And the Award for Most Ridiculous Goes to…

This weekend, Aunt Dor (and Uncle Chip) hosted their own version of the Academy Awards.  We all dressed up and went to their house, not to watch the real actors accept their awards, but so they could humiliate their guests on the big screen, showing the most embarrassing videos they could find from our childhood.   To be fair, Aunt Dor also included a clip of her “Irish jig” from a party she hosted about 20 years ago which was probably the clip that stole the show, with a bit of competition from her God-daughter, Savannah’s very serious dance with a folding chair from her high school years.   I can’t even imagine all the time she put into transferring small parts from many different VHS tapes onto DVDs and organizing everything, but we definitely all got a good laugh out of her efforts.

But no, Aunt Dor didn’t leave it at watching ourselves from the past.  She had more on the itinerary.  She made us re-enact some of our best moments.  T-Diddy sang her “favorite song”  (somehow not remembering any of the words), while Chip took the part of the sock puppet.  She took a bit to warm up…but had some good moments:

Laughter is life’s best medicine.   More stories to come, I’m sure.

So my little chicken, I love your post. Savannah and I memorialized you at the German restaurant on Sunday. They had these German dancing girls and one of the songs they played was the Chicken Dance. Savannah & I jumped up and did the Chicken Dance in your honor. We both wished you were there. Love U, Aunt Dor

I think your mom and Uncle Chip can dupe their act in a special Olympics event. I could not help but notice how clean the carpets were.
